Dr Bristol by Windsor Equestrian
The mouthpiece of the Dr Bristol has two joints in the centre, this link is flat, but longer and more rectangular in shape than a French link and is set at a slight angle (45°) to the plane of the bit
The double joint reduces the nutcracker effect found in single-jointed snaffles
As the middle link is angled compared to the side pieces of the bit, this means that the thin edge of the rectangle presses into the tongue
This bit puts pressure on the tongue, and to the bars and lips of the mouth encouraging the horse to stretch into the contact
